Nicole is a photogafriend who 2nd shot for me during Rachel and Bo's wedding and helped keep my sanity intact when, on the way there, I missed the exit and drove 100 miles out of the way. Panic ensued. Real live, stuttering FREAKING OUT panic. We ended up JUST making it on time but I owed this gurrrlll a favor big time. She mentioned recently needing some headshots for her new website so BLAMMO here we are:
Probably the coolest thing that's happened since I started my business is the photogafriends I've made along the way. It would be easy to assume that photographers in the same area would be competitive and guarded - but I've actually found the exact opposite to be true. I have been fortunate enough to connect with a cool group of peeps who share information about shooting/workflow/business ops and more. It is a beauttiiffullllll day in New York today so I was definitely excited to get out into the warmth and sunshine to shoot headshots and portraits for Alexis. She is a student and aspiring actress but I happen to think she should consider a career in stand up comedy because the two of us were hysterical (or delirious?) for a good amount of the session. Here she is "getting out the ridiculous faces I've been trying to hold in the whole time...." Now that that's outta the way, let's get down to bizznesss.... oh hey there GORGEOUS giant blue eyes....how you doin? My 2 favorites: A lot of these were taken behind a somewhat shady old-warehouse-type-thang...Alexis very patiently followed me without complaint in her faboosh heels and happily sat in yucky weeds and whatnot whenever I asked. What a gal! After the warehouse the next stop was a dumpster. I LOVE contrasting an adorable subject with dirty grimy backgrounds. For realz. That's all she wrote. Alexis, it was a pleasure meeting you - keep listening to the voice in your head and see ya on the big screen!
