Anyway...back to the point...have a Happy Halloween everyone...I will spend my day searching for the will power to stop myself from eating 34,000 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and avoiding teenagers at all costs. A pack of teenagers scares me on a normal day.
Just dropping in to wish you all a Happy Halloween and introduce you to Freddy the Jack-O-Lantern. What's scarier...Freddy or our super old-school blinds?

*EDIT - It has been brought to my attention that during our trip to Mystic, I unintentionally crossed not 1, but 2 items off my 30 in 365 list! #16 - Drive upstate and photograph the fall foliage and #20 - go on a roadtrip. Can I really lump 2 items into one blog post?? To-do list commissioner (me) says.....YES! I know, I know...I've been a bad blogger this week. But I'm back babydollz! Here are some shots of my wonderfully mature trip to Mystic Connecticut with Joe. Presented mostly without comment because, lets face it, the only thing worse than being forced to look at someone's vacation photos is being forced to look at someone's vacation photos while they narrate an explanation for each image. Have you pinpointed it yet? This is the face Joe makes when I say..."wait look at me!" because a) i'm taking a picture of him holding a pumpkin and b) he has just realized that within 72 hours there will be a picture of him holding a pumpkin on the internet. what a sport! There is an awesome aquarium in Mystic and, I'll spare you the other 898 pictures of fish I now have, but this guy was my favorite. Classic maddy-baddy-saddy. Who can blame him? I wanted to set all the fish free within 10 minutes of being there. And don't get me started on the penguins :-( For all the first (and soon to be only) time readers, I promise that my blogs are usually more entertaining (i hope) than this. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend everyone!
One day you're 7 years old playing manhunt with the kids on the block, and the next thing you know 20 years have gone by and you are taking engagement photos for one of the said "kids." Admittedly, I've been watching "The Wonder Years" on Netflix for the last few weeks so this post was bound to get a little reflective. Anywho, Joe is a longtime neighbor and family friend so it was super fun to meet up with him and his amazingly sweet Fiance (one of these days I will research both the correct spelling of the word "Fiance" as well as the method behind getting that little squiggily thing on the "e"...or is it the "a"?.....this is not that day) Rachel for some photos. The three of us had a unique situation: Squeezing an engagement session into two 15-minute segments. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Hello cuteness? BLING! The lovebirds then went to get changed and headed to their engagement party where both families were awaiting their arrival. Once everyone got settled, I stole them away for another 15 minute speed session on Tulip Avenue. The ollddddd stomping grounds. These doors just happened to be the exact same color as Rachel's eyes. LOVE LOVE LOVE these last shots. Rachel and Joe: you guys were the best! Thanks for not freaking out when I stopped trying to explain poses and just started grabbing you and physically moving you into position. We all had one eye on the clock and took care of bizzness. Congrats to you both and happy planning!
How can I start this? How bout this: Stamy and Rob are awesome! Seriously. It is so refreshing sometimes to meet and work with really laid-back, happy people. The weather on the day of their wedding was perfection. Stamy and Rob have been together for 15+ years and according to them, this whole wedding bizzness was to appease some parents and family members...but I can attest to catching them having a great time and totally enjoying the day on multiple occasions. I got to the venue a few hours early for some portraits. The bride and groom had no qualms about seeing each other before the ceremony, which meant no timeline for picture taking. I was a happy (and stress free!) photographer... The ceremony took place in a gorgeous garden as the sun was setting. There was definitely no shortage of adorable flower girls and ring bearers. Here's Stamy, her Dad and his seeing eye dog Joe. Does it even need to be said that I teared up while snapping these shots? AGAIN! Married! Congratulations Stamy and Rob!
So my grand plans of finishing and posting Stamy and Rob's wedding got a little sidetracked by the amazing weather today. I have vowed to myself to complete all editing and get a full blog post up in the extremely near future. In the meantime Joe, Gillies and I headed out into the crisp fall air for what I hoped would be a perfect opportunity to finally figure out how to use the self-timer on my camera and take some pictures. One disadvantage of always being behind the camera is that I have 40,000 pictures of Joe and Gillies, but none with me in them. I was on a mission. First, I had to allow time for Gillies's initial outdoor crazies to subside. Initial outdoor crazies = little things like pinecones and tennis balls send him into a hysterical frenzy and he runs nonsensical laps around the backyard for 5-10 minutes. We should really submit a video to Ceasar Milan. Crazy-Eyes Killa... Finally Gillies has calmed down and is looking pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. The good news is I figured out how to activate the self-timer. The bad news is I don't know how to set the timer higher than 2 seconds yet. Failed attempt #1 Failed attempt #2 Annnddd the inevitable consolation super duper closeup self-shots. These will have to do until I find the time to break out the trusty old Canon manual. I hope everyone had a fabulous fall-weekend!
There's two things I can say for sure about Giovanni: 1- This little guy has a larger than life family who all love him very much. This was very apparent at his Baptism, which I had the pleasure of photographing. 2- He may be the most laid back 3 month old of all time! When I arrived at his Grandparents house, everything was chaotic and in the middle of it all was cool-as-a-cucumber Giovanni, just taking it all in while being passed from family member to family member.. Did I mention that Giovanni is Italian? Look at the adorable t-shirts his Godparents got... He was 100% blinged out for his big day! Giovanni's parents were so proud. And they have every right to be! He is such a beautiful little boy... What's that you say? You're wondering just how many people came to show love for Giovanni on his big day?.... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THIS MANY! Thank goodness for wide angle lenses! Giovanni, you were such a trooper, welcome to the world little one :-)
Joseph's Mom contacted me almost 2 months ago about doing his 1-year photos. After postponements, hurricanes etc. we were finally able to squeeze in an early morning session. Here's 1 year old (+ 2 months haha) Joseph in his brand new house! I LOVED the flow of this session. They played, I shot. Before we headed to a local park, we stopped to snap a photo of the new crib. Congrats guys! Sometimes this thing happens where I love a picture so much, I can't resist posting it in both color and black and white.....this is one of those times. I can't help myself, this kiddo is just too cute. Happy belated first birthday Joseph!
I shot Stamy and Rob's wedding today out in Riverhead. It's past my bedtime (10 p.m.) and I am very tye tye but wanted to post a super-quick sneak peek! Goodnight!
Hi there! I'm back and you might notice a few things have changed. I've been wanting to switch up my website for a while so here we are! Same old me, just a different look. The blog is now the home page, since according to my web-analytics it's most visited (that's right...I can seeee youuu!). ANYWAY...back to bizzness. Here are the shots from Andi and Myles's wedding I've been dyinggggg to post! I was second shooting with Chris Polinsky and my first assignment was to hang with Andi and her girls while she got ready at the fabulous W Hotel. Andi and her MOH Katie exchanging "I can't believe we are HERE...and you are getting MARRIED" looks. love. The more weddings I'm around, the more I've officially decided my FAVORITE part of the day is the bride getting ready. So much giddy energy. Andi=GORGEOUS. And the award for cutest ring-bearers of all time goes to.... Rooftop ceremony, under the Empire State Building. So romantical. Andi and Myles are awesome. End of story.
BLAH! Where have I been? I've been here, trying to blog, but unable to due to some image-sizing issues. Waiting to hear back from my web-hositing company. Technical difficulties = no fun! Things better be back on track soon because I've got a big weekend coming up. (Look at me with my blind threats!). Since I can't post without a photo, here's my favorite shot from Andi and Myles' wedding (the post I've been trying to share). Andi getting ready on her big day.
Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow sans website-drama! |
