ANYWAY, fast forward 3 or 4 years and SHE AND JEFF ARE ENGAGED!!!! YAYY!!!! Oh, and I've also started a photography business. Put these things together and you've got Arely and Jeff's ADORABLE engagement session!!
Arely and I worked together at my very first job out of college and on our lunch break we would sometimes (all the time) sit in my car and talk about what we wanted our engagement rings and weddings to be like...not because we were crazy...because we are GIRLS....and that is just what girls do, k? :-) ANYWAY, fast forward 3 or 4 years and SHE AND JEFF ARE ENGAGED!!!! YAYY!!!! Oh, and I've also started a photography business. Put these things together and you've got Arely and Jeff's ADORABLE engagement session!! Today was the unofficial first day of spring and the weather and sunlight was amazzzinnggg! I have literally never met anyone who laughs more than Arely. Hang around her and you will feel like the FUNNIEST person alive! Love this next set of 3. The exact same angle and posing, but 3 completely different shots. Aw shux, you guys sure are cute! Tres chic! I love polka dots, but I can't pull them off. Arely in polka dots?? Pulling. It. Off. The usual bonus points were awarded for laying in the grass.... Soooo the sun started to set and HOT DAYUMMM we got some gorgeous light! Congrats Arely and Jeff!!! Can't wait to shoot your wedding dudes :-)

HEYOOOO! Sometimes choosing photos for the blog is like a Mother choosing favorites among her children. When I was editing Nina and Joe's engagement session I was all "but I love them allll"....here is the resulting reallllyyyly long blog post: Nina is pretty hideous looking, no? GORGEOUS! I feel like this next set kind of sums up Nina and Joe as a couple... No shortage of AMAZING backdrops at this super cool Long Island City location... Cuteness! LOVE this shot. Warming up after our session with some yummy cappuccino. A) Congrats Nina and Joe!!! You are my most favoritest engagement session ever!!
B) Can't wait to shoot your wedding this Labor Day!!! When my friend Alexis asked me to come over and take newborn portraits of her baby girl Jordyn, I couldn't wait to meet this little one in person. She is so cute! And she looks JUST like her Daddy. Clone alert! We had a super chill lifestyle session in her nursery... Sisters! I know this one probably won't make it in a frame, but I like it :-) What you lookin at Willis? Happy Family <3 <3 For being only a week old, I couldn't believe how awake and alert Jordyn was throughout our session... Rock star! LOVE her hair :-) Jordyn Drew, it was such a pleasure meeting you!!! Congrats Lex and Howie! (and Remi).
I upgraded to the 50mm f/1.4 lens from the f/1.8 a few weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to really play around with it. Some of these are soft because I'm not used to shooting at f/1.4 but I don't think Gillies minds too much :-) I am wayyyy glad you can't hear the howl associated with these first few. If you are planning on getting a beagle, I hope you have ear plugs. Still going... f/1.4 doggy nose. Our handsome pup! Really looking forward to getting the hang of this lens for my upcoming shoots...and YES, I'm aware that this was the most boring post of all time, OKAY!?
Laura and Craig were married a few weeks ago and had a big bash out in California. Last weekend they brought the party back to NY to celebrate with their East Coast family and friends. They are like the celebrities, double wedding!! Here's Laura looking drop.dead.GORGEOUS before the ceremony... VA VA VOOM! Cutie patooties. Ceremony! MAWWIED!!! Sparkly shoes. Love this shot. Just as their lunch-reception was getting started (and my coverage was coming to an end) I noticed some supperrrr awesome light out in the parking lot so Laura and Craig agreed to take a few last portraits... CONGRATS!!!
Joanna and Daniel were married last weekend in a super sweet ceremony at the Milleridge Cottage. I caught up with Joanna and the girls as they were all getting ready... This dress literally made me 2nd guess my own wedding dress purchase. GORGEOUS. Dress time. Stunning! MEANWHILE... What else is new? I'm telling you - guys have it MADE. I saw Daniel sneak away into the ceremony space so naturally I followed him (stalking is just part of the job folks). Turns out, he was hiding a mini-yoda in the garland. I don't think I ever got a full explanation as to why, but I got a picture. So there! Ready to roll... Since the sun goes down so farking early in the winter, Joanna and Daniel decided to do a "first look" so we could take the majority of the pictures *before* the ceremony. I hate to back-track, but I'm still obsessing over Joanna's dress. LOVE. IT! SPOILER ALERT: You will see these next two shots in my portfolio for the rest of the time. LOVE. Joanna. DAMNNN GURRLLLL. Although I've never been a fan of freezing my ass off, I love the light in the wintertime. It's so soft andddd well just awesome. Luckily, Joanna and Daniel were willing to brave the cold with me :-) Fun with the whole gang. IT'S MARRYING TIME! Joanna headed back up to the bridal suite and put on her a-m-a-z-i-n-g veil. MARRIED!!!! Joanna and Daniel are honeymooning in Mexico right now, and although I'm still really mad they didn't take me with them, I wish them all the best. Mazel Tav!!!!
So I'm trying to change my ways in 2013. In the past, I had this terrible tendency to take lots of personal pitchas and never do anything with them.
Here are two Sunday morning shots of my hound doggy Gillies, who holds the key to my heart in his paw. And who also drives me insane. Love this guy... Remember Rebecca and Howie? Ummm duhhh of course you do! Well today was their beautiful daughter Julia Ruth's naming ceremony and I snuck a 5 minute photo session in before the party got started... Yummy!! Hand...nom nom. Ohhhh boy I love this one <3 Such a pretty little lady! Julia - it was so nice to finally meet you!
